Thomas Alva Edison
Thomas Alva Edison was an inventor. He invented 1,093 things. He also issued more patents than any other inventor. In 1874, he invented the quadruplex, which could send 4 messages at the same time over 1 wire. In 1877, he invented the carbon telephone transmitter and the first phonograph. In 1879, he invented the electric light bulb. When I learned about Thomas Edison, it reminded me of Henry Ford and the Wright brothers because they were also inventors. Henry Ford invented the Model T Car and the Wright brothers invented a plane called the Flyer. When I learned about Thomas not doing well in class, it reminded me of Mohandas Gandhi, because he also did not do well in class.

I read a quote from Edison recently on a website. I thought you might like it. Perhaps you will be an inventor someday too. Mr. Edison said,
"Sometimes, all you need to invent something is a good imagination and a pile of junk...."
